The Board of Directors of Talabat Holding PLC has approved the resignation of Tommaso Rodriguez from his position as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 20, 2025.
According to the company’s announcement, Rodriguez will retain his position as a board member while Toon Gysels has been appointed as his successor, starting November 21.
This leadership transition aligns with the company’s strategy to enhance sustainable leadership and build upon the progress made in recent years. Rodriguez will continue to support the organization through his board membership, focusing on strategic aspects and collaboration with key partners in a non-executive role. He will also work closely with Toon Gysels to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
Notably, Toon Gysels previously spent four years at Talabat, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and later as Acting CEO. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in accelerating the company’s growth across the Middle East and North Africa.
Recently, Gysels held the position of Chief Operations Officer at Kitopi, a cloud kitchen platform, and has also worked with McKinsey & Company in a consulting capacity.
