During GITEX, “Space 42” and “Autonomous A2Z” Forge Agreement to Advance Smart Mobility System in the UAE

Space 42 has entered into a memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s Autonomous A2Z, a firm specializing in self-driving technology, to create a joint venture in Abu Dhabi. This initiative aims to promote and market level four autonomous driving solutions in the Middle East and Africa.

This collaboration, announced at the GITEX Global 2025 event, marks a significant advancement in localizing cutting-edge autonomous driving technologies and establishing a sustainable smart mobility framework in the United Arab Emirates.

Hassan Al Hosani, CEO of Intelligent Solutions at Space 42, emphasized that partnerships between local and international companies facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge, which is crucial for achieving the country’s ambitions in self-driving technology. This aligns with Space 42’s strategic focus on leading geospatial analytics services.

Gi Hyunghan, CEO of Autonomous A2Z, stated that the company is committed to expanding its successful level four autonomous driving technologies into the Middle East region.

He further mentioned that through collaboration with Space 42, the company aims to support the UAE’s national vision for smart and autonomous mobility, foster local innovation, and solidify the region’s role as a leading hub for sustainable transportation.

This joint venture will contribute to establishing a comprehensive national ecosystem for the innovation, development, and marketing of self-driving solutions, supporting the efforts of the Smart Autonomous Systems Council aimed at enhancing strategies, innovation, and investment in the development and implementation of intelligent and autonomous systems, as well as related activities in Abu Dhabi.

By integrating smart fleets and building specialized capabilities, this partnership is set to improve operational efficiency, enhance safety levels, and support sustainability goals for both businesses and cities.

Since its inception in 2021, TXAI, the autonomous taxi service from Space 42, has reported over 600,000 kilometers of safe autonomous driving, completing around 20,000 passenger trips without any accidents. Its fleet currently operates in Saadiyat, Yas, Al Maryah, and Al Reem islands, as well as Abu Dhabi International Airport.
