Dubai Airport Captures 60% Share of Region’s Busiest Routes

Dubai Airport has maintained its leadership as the busiest hub for air travel in the region during October, capturing 60% of the most congested routes.

Data obtained by local sources indicates that six out of the top ten busiest regional routes either start from or arrive at Dubai Airport.

According to international aviation data from OAG, the Cairo-Jeddah route topped the regional rankings for seating capacity on scheduled international flights in October, with approximately 474,700 total seats available.

The Dubai-Riyadh route follows closely in second place with around 307,000 seats, while Cairo-Riyadh placed third with approximately 275,500 seats. The Dubai-Jeddah route secured the fourth position with about 265,600 seats.

Additionally, the Dubai-Heathrow route ranks fifth with a total of 250,400 seats, while the Mumbai-Dubai route comes sixth with 237,100 seats. The Dubai-Kuwait route is seventh with around 225,700 seats, followed by the Doha-Heathrow route with 121,400 seats, and Delhi-Dubai with 207,900 seats.

Throughout October, Dubai Airport has retained its status as the largest international airport in terms of seating capacity on scheduled international flights, offering 5.34 million seats for outgoing international trips (10.68 million in both directions).
