Sharjah Airport has reported a significant operational performance in the third quarter of 2025, showcasing continued growth in air travel, passenger traffic, and cargo shipments. The total number of travelers reached 5,127,120, up from 4,392,000 during the same period in 2024, reflecting a growth rate of 16.7%. This underscores the airport’s status as a primary destination both locally and internationally. Additionally, the total scheduled and unscheduled flights amounted to 30,737, compared to 27,758 flights in the third quarter of the previous year, marking a 10.7% increase.
In terms of cargo, the airport maintained positive performance levels, handling 48,073 tons of air cargo compared to 46,284 tons in the same period of 2024, which translates to a rise of 3.9%. Moreover, the air-sea freight segment experienced impressive growth, recording 4,296 tons, up from 3,236 tons last year, indicating an increase of 32.8%.
Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport Authority, noted that the positive results achieved in the third quarter reflect the ongoing growth in various operational areas. He emphasized the vital role the airport plays in supporting the aviation sector, aligning with the future growth plans of Sharjah, and reinforcing its position as a preferred destination regionally and internationally.
