Sharjah Economic Department Starts Implementing Friday Market License Fee in Dirhams

The Department of Economic Development in Sharjah has begun implementing the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, by setting the annual fee for home-based license holders in the Friday market and nearby shops in Mleiha at just one dirham.

Hamid Al Mahmoud, the head of the Department of Economic Development in Sharjah and a member of the Executive Council, emphasized that the department places great importance on this sector. This initiative aligns with His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi’s call to support citizens in accessing markets and engaging in economic activities, while also fostering their projects and ideas towards success and sustainability. The aim is to enhance economic activities within the emirate.

He noted that the “E’temad” license plays a key role in regulating home-based business practices and encourages the participation of citizens in economic ventures.
