British Lord Chooses Dubai Over London for His Residence

Lord Stephen Carter, a former minister in the government of former Prime Minister Gordon Brown, has announced his departure from the United Kingdom to relocate to Dubai, according to reports from Financial Times and Telegraph.

Carter is among approximately six senior executives at Informa who have transitioned to other company offices abroad in the past year.

He stepped down from the House of Lords to take charge of the data and events company, which is listed on the FTSE 100, from one of its rapidly growing regions.

Also making moves are Patrick Martell, the Chief Operating Officer, who has relocated to New York, and Gary Nugent, head of Informa’s TechTarget division, who has moved to Boston.

Carter was the inaugural Chief Executive of the UK media regulator Ofcom and has led Informa since 2013.
