Launch of the Mining Exhibition and Conference in Dubai

The 17th edition of the Mining 2025 Exhibition and Conference commenced yesterday in Dubai, featuring over 200 exhibiting entities from various countries, along with a selection of policymakers, industry experts, and innovators.

Spanning two days, the event serves as a comprehensive platform to showcase the latest innovations and discuss the future of the mining sector in the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond.

In his opening address, Eng. Saif Al-Ghabash, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for the Oil, Gas, and Mineral Resources Sector, highlighted the significant global transformation underway.

He emphasized that minerals have become essential for energy transition and digital transformation, stating that without critical minerals, achieving clean energy, electric mobility, artificial intelligence-driven industries, and a resilient digital economy is unattainable.

He also noted that international reports, including one from the International Energy Agency, project that global demand for minerals used in electric vehicles and energy storage will increase by at least 30 times by 2040. Furthermore, lithium demand is expected to surge more than 40 times, accompanied by substantial increases in the demand for graphite, cobalt, nickel, and copper.
