Flydubai has entered into a new agreement with GE Aviation to procure 60 GEnx-1B engines, intended to equip the airline’s inaugural fleet of wide-body aircraft, comprising 30 Boeing 787-9 jets.
Key Details of the Agreement
The contract, finalized during the 2025 Dubai Airshow, also includes backup engines and long-term support services to facilitate the launch of the airline’s long-haul operations.
This arrangement reinforces Flydubai’s strategy for ongoing growth and network expansion, enabling the airline to enhance capacity across current destinations and address the increasing demand from passengers. Established in 2008, Flydubai has experienced substantial growth and currently serves over 135 destinations across 57 countries, with plans to add long-haul routes to its expanding network.
