Emirates Airlines has urged its passengers to arrange their travel plans ahead of time for the month of December, anticipating a significant increase in travel traffic through Dubai International Airport as the winter tourism season kicks off.
This surge coincides with numerous local events and holidays, compounded by recent adjustments to the academic calendar from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, which includes an extended school break. Emirates expects to serve over 4.8 million passengers (approximately 2.3 million departures and over 2.5 million arrivals) across its route network throughout December.
Passengers are encouraged to prepare early for their journeys this month, taking into account the potential for traffic congestion leading to the airport, full parking lots, and increased activity within the airport during the festive season.
Additionally, travelers can benefit from a variety of smart and innovative services designed to offer a quicker and more seamless travel experience during the peak season in December.
Emirates has provided several recommendations for minimizing wait times at Dubai International Airport throughout December, including arriving at the airport at least three hours before their flight departure to complete check-in processes and reach the correct boarding gate one hour prior to departure.
Customers can take advantage of their time at Dubai International Airport with access to Emirates lounges, a wide selection of restaurants and cafes, as well as top-tier shopping and relaxation areas.
Furthermore, passengers are advised to download the Emirates app and opt for online check-in, along with registering for the biometric pathway for a faster airport experience. The Emirates app allows travelers to effortlessly access flight details on their mobile devices, check in up to 48 hours before their flight, and obtain a digital boarding pass for most destinations.
