Ben Toug: Enhancing Entrepreneurial Skills for Shaping the Future Economy

The global aluminum company Emirates Global Aluminium has announced that HyveGeo, The AM Lab, and Magmec have emerged victorious in the third season of the “RAMP-UP” program. Launched in 2022 with the support of the UAE’s Ministry of Economy and Tourism, this initiative is designed to foster growth opportunities for startups and encourage entrepreneurship within the UAE market.

The program offers intensive training and mentorship from global experts to entrepreneurs, aiming to support their innovative projects that contribute to sustainable economic growth.

The initiative seeks to develop potential new suppliers for participating companies to enhance local procurement, thereby strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country. This supports the national campaign “UAE: Global Capital of Entrepreneurs,” which aims to establish the UAE as a leading global hub for entrepreneurship and startups.

Skills Development

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, stated: “The UAE places significant importance on nurturing and developing the skills of entrepreneurs and startup owners, as they are a crucial pillar in building a future economy driven by knowledge, innovation, and competitiveness.”

The initiative involves adopting supportive programs and initiatives to enhance their capabilities, providing an ideal environment for growth and prosperity, thus contributing to the diversification of the national economy and establishing the country as a global center for entrepreneurship and innovation.

He highlighted the importance of fruitful collaboration between the ministry and Emirates Global Aluminium through the “RAMP-UP” program, which plays a vital role in enhancing the competitiveness of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country, propelling it to more advanced and prosperous levels.

The season attracted hundreds of applications from Emirati and resident entrepreneurs across various sectors, including digital innovation, supply chains, logistics, environment, sustainability, human resources, health, and safety.

The season concluded with a presentation day, attended by Dr. Abdul Rahman Hassan Al-Muaini, Assistant Undersecretary for the Intellectual Property Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and Abdul Nasser bin Khelban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium.

Sustainability Principles

Abdul Nasser bin Khelban expressed that Emirates Global Aluminium supports the nation’s vision of fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, which is essential for driving economic diversification.

“We are proud to present the ‘RAMP-UP’ program to empower innovative entrepreneurs in the UAE to establish businesses based on sustainability principles, creating added value for society,” he added.

He congratulated all winners and expressed anticipation for their integration into the local supplier network of Emirates Aluminium. After a highly competitive evaluation process, ten startups were selected for the final list of the third season, including EquaTalent, Huntr, HyveGeo Limited, Magmec, Mindme, Navatech, Re-skill, syd Life AI, The AM Lab, and Third Body Dynamics.

The ten qualified entrepreneurs received personalized guidance and training from senior executives at Emirates Global Aluminium, as well as sustainable business management and finance experts from RAMP-UP partners, including Microsoft and the National Fund.
