His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy and Tourism, emphasized that the United Arab Emirates and the Russian Federation share a strategic relationship anchored in mutual understanding and shared economic interests.
This statement was made during the twelfth session of the UAE-Russia joint government committee for commercial, economic, and technical cooperation, which was co-chaired by His Excellency Al Marri and His Excellency Anton Alyakhanov, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, with representatives from relevant government and private sectors from both sides present.
Minister Al Marri remarked: “The current session of the joint committee represents a new phase in building fruitful partnerships between the business communities and the private sectors of both nations. Our focus lies in enhancing collaboration and supporting entrepreneurs from both sides, contributing to the growth and sustainability of our economies. We aim to concentrate our efforts on new economic sectors and priority areas that ensure mutual benefits for both countries.”
He further highlighted the essential role the committee plays in exploring promising opportunities within the business environment of both nations. Minister Al Marri reviewed the advantages offered by the UAE’s business environment, such as flexible economic laws that allow for 100% foreign ownership of companies and a sophisticated business climate enabling over 2000 economic activities.
The committee’s agenda included discussions on action plans and mechanisms for cooperation in areas like investment, energy, industry and innovation, food security and agriculture, education, transportation and logistics, tourism, sports and culture, environmental protection, healthcare, and several other topics.
Both parties agreed to continue their joint efforts to develop new frameworks for economic cooperation in prioritized sectors and to support entrepreneurs from each side, aiming to elevate the economic collaboration between the two nations to new heights.
