Today, Dubai launched the “First UAE-Russia Business Forum,” a significant event on the economic agenda between the two nations.
This forum, organized by the UAE-Russia Business Council, is set to become an annual event, receiving support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Roscongress Foundation, and the Marathon Investment Group.
It brings together leaders from major companies and investment funds from both the UAE and Russia, along with representatives from relevant government ministries and emerging technology firms. The event is part of the twelfth meeting of the UAE-Russia Joint Government Commission focused on trade, economic, and technical cooperation.
A central element of the forum is the plenary session titled “Engineering Long-Term Growth: New Opportunities for Both Countries,” where Alexander Vinokourov, Chairman of the UAE-Russia Business Council, will present the council’s strategy and tools aimed at enhancing economic and trade potentials between the two countries. This session will highlight bilateral economic cooperation and practical mechanisms for developing joint projects.
The plenary session will feature notable participants, including His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, Vitaly Seryshuk, Board Member and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at VTB Bank, and Alexander Garov, CEO of Gazprom Media Holding. Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will also be present at the forum.
The discussions will kick off with a session titled “Innovation Pathway between Russia and the UAE: A New Phase of Technological Partnership,” featuring speakers like Sergey Zakharov, Partner at Marathon Investment Group, Khalfan Balhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, Mohammed Jumaa Al Shamsi, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, Nabil Arnous, CEO of Innovation City, Dmitry Markov, CEO of Vision Labs, and Alexey Yuzakov, Chairman of Promobot. Vyacheslav Kubayev will also participate as the CTO of Magnet Tech, along with Anastasia Stolkova, a member of the Public Health Committee of the Civil Chamber of the Russian Federation and Director of RK-Medicine.
During this session, the first accelerator program will be launched, aimed at building a comprehensive system to support the growth of Russian tech companies and startups in the UAE.
Additionally, discussions will cover proposed projects and mechanisms for creating a joint investment platform between the UAE and Russia. The economic program will conclude with a roundtable titled “Russia and the UAE: Shaping the Future System of Trade and Logistics,” where participants will discuss the development of bilateral export corridors and logistics pathways, diversifying trade flows, and finding sustainable multimodal solutions.
