Adnoc Logistics and Services and Ta’ziz Establish a Specialized Chemicals Port in Ruwais

The company ADNOC Logistics and Services (PLC) has announced a 50-year agreement with “Taziz” to establish a specialized chemicals port within the Taziz Industrial Chemicals Zone in Ruwais.

ADNOC Logistics and Services will be responsible for the construction, ownership, and operation of the port, while Taziz will utilize the facility to efficiently export chemicals and their derivatives to global markets.

The project, with an investment exceeding AED 1 billion (USD 300 million), is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026. It is projected to generate revenues exceeding AED 4.8 billion (USD 1.3 billion) for ADNOC Logistics and Services over the first 27 years.

Meanwhile, Taziz is set to develop the state’s first integrated chemicals ecosystem, with a target production capacity of over 4.7 million tons annually by 2028, including methanol, low-carbon ammonia, caustic soda, ethylene dichloride, vinyl chloride monomer, and polyvinyl chloride.

Captain Abdul Kareem Al Masabi, CEO of ADNOC Logistics and Services, emphasized that this strategic agreement marks a significant milestone in establishing the UAE’s first specialized chemicals port, facilitating predictable long-term revenues for ADNOC Logistics and Services and supporting Taziz’s integrated growth in the chemicals sector.

He further stated that the project underscores the company’s ability to expand into fast-growing sectors while providing sustainable value to its stakeholders and contributing to the nation’s industrial advancement.

Taziz plays a crucial role in ADNOC’s ambitions to enhance the industrial value chain of chemicals in the UAE and supports economic diversification through industrial development.

Taziz is expected to contribute billions of dollars to the national economy while creating thousands of job opportunities and developing hundreds of new end products across vital sectors, including construction, agriculture, and healthcare.

Mishaal Saud Al Kindi, CEO of Taziz, remarked that the strategically located chemicals port will enable the company to efficiently export its products to fast-growing markets in Asia and Africa, thus enhancing the UAE’s position as a leading destination in the global chemicals industry.

He added that the partnership with ADNOC Logistics and Services ensures the effective execution, operation, and development of the project, facilitating reliable logistics services and sustainable returns for Taziz.

It is noteworthy that the Taziz project will provide a comprehensive ecosystem that guarantees the highest operational efficiency for chemicals producers, featuring centralized facilities, storage terminals, raw material supply lines, as well as integrated infrastructure including roads, emergency response systems, and health, safety, and crisis management.
