A new startup based in the UAE, named CozmoX, has introduced artificial intelligence (AI) employees aiming to transform the workforce for numerous local businesses. According to their claims, each AI agent can replace the workload of 100 human workers.
Nuha Hashem, one of the co-founders of CozmoX, explained that these AI employees are capable of assisting in various roles such as customer support, sales, debt collection, audits, and processing invoices—essentially intervening wherever manual human labor is prevalent and cognitive skills aren’t a requirement.
“Leveraging a decade’s worth of data, we can create an AI employee within less than a day that can handle the equivalent workload of 100 individuals, allowing human workers to concentrate on more productive tasks. For instance, to perform 10,000 calls each day, a company would typically need to hire a substantial staff, but one AI employee can accomplish this task,” she noted. This has been successfully implemented with several significant public sector organizations.
Established only five months ago, CozmoX has already partnered with over 50 companies across the UAE and maintains offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, San Francisco, and Pune, with plans to expand to London.
“We envision that AI agents will become essential in the future. Our focus is on creating AI agents for both public and private sectors, and we also provide the necessary infrastructure for them to develop their own AI entities to manage manual tasks like sales, operations, and customer support,” remarked Alok Kumar, co-founder of CozmoX.
“Usually, these tasks consume countless hours and financial resources, but with just one AI agent, companies can achieve them within minutes. We empower organizations to have their proprietary AI employees, regardless of whether they are from a technological or non-technological domain,” Kumar shared during an interview on the sidelines of Dubai AI Week.
He highlighted that many leading companies in insurance, finance, healthcare, logistics, and food and beverage sectors are utilizing AI agents to create their own AI workforce.
“These AI employees are capable of answering calls, engaging with clients concerning policies, accessing databases to retrieve information, sending details via email, and even providing payment links. Some of the largest drive-thrus globally have started hiring AI employees who can interact with customers throughout the entire process. These AI agents can converse fluently in up to 80 languages,” he added.
Kumar emphasized that AI can handle many routine tasks, enabling human workers to engage more in interpersonal interactions where emotional intelligence and critical thinking are necessary.
Job Displacement Concerns
This development raises a vital question: is AI genuinely displacing jobs?
Kumar stated, “No jobs have been lost; in fact, productivity has increased thanks to our AI solutions.”
He further explained, “Many individuals approach us and share that our solutions allow them to avoid manual tasks that hinder productivity. They can now focus on impactful work instead.”
Nuha expressed her view that the relationship between AI and humans is collaborative. “AI is not meant to replace humans; instead, it is intended to enhance human productivity. Humans are the ones managing these AI agents, and that is the current reality.”
According to Alok Kumar, AI employees have a positive impact on company revenues and cost savings.
<p“On average, certain hospitals and medical clinics save over $30,000 monthly, while some large public sector organizations have reported savings exceeding $100,000 each month.”
