A delegation from the Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development, led by Dr. Ubaid Al Zaabi, chairman of the authority, participated in the Egyptian-Gulf Trade and Investment Forum 2025 held in Cairo. The event focused on the theme “A Roadmap for Enhancing Egyptian-Gulf Economic Cooperation” and saw involvement from Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, along with various ministers, high-ranking officials, and business leaders from both Gulf and Egyptian sides.
During his contribution to the third discussion session titled “Mechanisms and Areas for Enhancing Food Security,” Dr. Al Zaabi highlighted the authority’s role in connecting Gulf investors with agricultural projects in Egypt. He emphasized that achieving Arab food security demands collaborative efforts and the activation of cross-border investment partnerships, which would aid in creating a sustainable agricultural system capable of addressing climatic and economic challenges, infrastructure deficiencies, fluctuating weather conditions, and rising production costs. He urged the adoption of modern technologies and the development of innovative financing tools, such as green sukuk, while also advocating for strengthened partnerships between the public and private sectors. The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development remains committed to advancing joint projects related to food security.
He concluded his remarks by reiterating that joint Arab agricultural investment is a fundamental pillar for Arab national security and a guarantee for achieving sustainable development.
In addition to the forum, Dr. Al Zaabi held a series of high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event.
