DB World has established itself as a key player in the port and logistics sector within the Indian subcontinent, leveraging a comprehensive expansion strategy. This strategy combines long-term investment in infrastructure with the development of an interconnected asset network, including seaports, inland terminals, railways, and free zones, along with advanced digital solutions. These efforts have allowed the company to capture a significant share of India’s import-export market and improve national supply chain efficiency.
As the sole operator at three of India’s largest ports, DB World enjoys a competitive edge and a prominent position in international trade, which is reflected in its acquisition of approximately 25% of the Indian import-export market. This act serves as a pivotal point in a broader logistics framework stretching from coastal areas to the depths of domestic markets.
In India, DB World manages six maritime container terminals, including one currently under development, indicating the company’s confidence in future demand for handling and maritime shipping services. These terminals are integrated with a robust land network that includes eight inland rail terminals and five container freight stations, supported by a fleet of 90 dedicated trains for transporting containers and bulk goods. This integration has enabled the creation of a multimodal transport network, reducing transit times and lowering operational costs for clients.
In the logistics sector, DB World has broadened its operational scope to include over 100 courier centers spread across various Indian states, alongside modern warehouse facilities exceeding 5 million square feet. These warehouses are designed to support diverse sectors, including general trade, industry, retail, and e-commerce. Additionally, the company manages three free trade zones that serve as strategic platforms for storage, re-exporting, and light assembly, enhancing India’s appeal as a regional hub for trade and logistics.
