DB World to Handle 93.36 Million Containers by 2025

DP World has significantly enhanced its global presence in the logistics and container handling sectors throughout 2025, demonstrating impressive operational performance that solidifies its position as a leading international player in port management and terminal operations. The company effectively combines operational efficiency with a worldwide reach in one of the most competitive industries.

According to an official report from the group, DP World handled 93.36 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) during 2025, reflecting robust growth of 5.8% compared to 88.28 million TEUs handled in the previous year. This performance showcases the resilience of its operations and its ability to accommodate the continuous growth in global trade.

The data indicates that the group accelerated its operational performance, adding over 5 million TEUs to its handling volume compared to 2024, a direct reflection of its expanding operational network and strong demand. In the fourth quarter of 2025, DP World processed 23.9 million TEUs, achieving a growth rate of 4.2% in comparison to 22.96 million TEUs handled during the fourth quarter of 2024. This enhances its standing as one of the key global players within ports and logistics services.

Jebel Ali

Jebel Ali Port maintained its central role within DP World, delivering stable and increasing performance throughout 2025, handling 15.6 million TEUs compared to 15.53 million TEUs during the same period last year, representing a slight growth of 0.1%.

In the fourth quarter alone, the port handled approximately 3.96 million TEUs, reaffirming its status as a crucial hub connecting Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, while playing a vital role in driving Dubai and the non-oil trade of the Emirates.

Asia

On a global scale, the group continued to enhance its performance in the Asia-Pacific region and the Indian subcontinent, which are seen as the heart of global trade. Container handling in this region increased by 3% in 2025, reaching 44.7 million TEUs compared to 43.38 million TEUs processed in 2024.

Furthermore, the fourth quarter alone showed growth of 2.3%, with handling volume amounting to approximately 11.37 million TEUs, reflecting the ongoing recovery of regional trade, especially with the expansion of shipping routes between India, China, and Southeast Asia.

Europe and the Middle East

DP World achieved one of the highest growth rates within its global portfolio in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, where handling volume increased by 8.3% in 2025, totaling 34.52 million TEUs compared to 31.88 million TEUs during the same period in 2024. The report indicated that during the fourth quarter, the company handled about 8.82 million TEUs, up from 8.39 million TEUs in the equivalent quarter of 2024, which marks a growth of 5.1%, driven by the recovery of trade at ports in Eastern Africa and the Mediterranean.

The Americas and Australia

In the Americas and Australia, the group marked impressive growth of 8.6% in 2025, handling over 14.13 million TEUs compared to 13 million TEUs in 2024. The growth accelerated in the fourth quarter of 2025, with an increase of 8.3%, bringing the handling volume up to 3.73 million TEUs. This reflects the continued success of DP World’s investments in both maritime and inland ports in Latin America and Australia.

The group continues to expand its investments in digital and smart supply chain solutions, in line with its vision to enhance the efficiency of global trade movements and achieve sustainable growth across continents.
