Dubai Expo City has been recognized as the “Emerging Free Zone of the Year” for 2025 by FDI Intelligence, a publication from the Financial Times group. This accolade reinforces the city’s reputation as a thriving business hub and emphasizes its global positioning, innovation-driven ecosystem, and commitment to sustainability.
This recognition, which is part of the Global Free Zone of the Year Awards 2025, highlights Dubai Expo City as a vibrant community that supports businesses of all sizes and fosters entrepreneurship and investment. This is made possible thanks to its strategic location, future-ready infrastructure, smart city technologies, and a supportive regulatory and legal framework.
Najeeb Al Ali, the Executive Director of Dubai Expo City Authority, stated, “This prestigious award serves as evidence of our commitment to creating a unique business environment that combines innovation and impact. We are focused on establishing a vibrant, interconnected city centred on people, where all businesses—from startups to large multinationals—can thrive and contribute to Dubai’s growth and a more sustainable future.”
The awards for 2025 received a total of 80 entries from free zones worldwide, with 16 participating in the “Emerging Free Zone” category for zones established after December 31, 2022.
The judging panel evaluated targeted sectors, benefits offered to businesses, and recent decisions made by companies to relocate or expand within these zones.
