Economie Launches Digital Solutions to Accelerate Company, Business, and Trademark Registration Processes

The Ministry of Economy and Tourism participated in the “GITEX Global 2025” exhibition, taking place over five days from October 13 to 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event showcased the Federal Government pavilion, attended by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy and Tourism. During this event, the ministry unveiled new digital solutions aimed at expediting and simplifying the registration processes for trademarks, companies, and economic entities in the nation, leveraging the latest advancements in artificial intelligence. This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing the ministry’s digital transformation and operational efficiency.

Pioneering Model

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri emphasized that the UAE, guided by the vision and directives of its wise leadership, has established itself as a global model for developing and delivering integrated smart government services. This reflects the spirit of innovation and proactivity characteristic of government operations. The nation is committed to adopting the latest digital technologies and AI solutions, along with investing in strengthening its digital infrastructure to keep pace with the rapid global transition towards a knowledge-based digital economy.

He stated, “GITEX Global serves as a prominent international platform to highlight the progress the UAE has made in the new economy and digital transformation, showcasing our ability to enhance government service efficiency according to best practices worldwide. The ministry is dedicated to continual improvement of its digital services and solutions, aligning with the nation’s goal to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles.”

He added: “The ministry will continue developing new digital solutions and services targeting individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs in the upcoming phase. This will be achieved by utilizing advanced technologies across various operational areas, facilitating business setup and operations in the country, boosting the competitiveness of the national economy, and aligning with our vision to establish a government system that is globally leading and capable of delivering comprehensive quality services that meet stakeholders’ expectations and accommodate future needs, in line with the objectives of ‘UAE Vision 2031’.”

Accelerating Transactions

The ministry showcased its new digital technology for the “Trademark Registration” service, which caters to all categories of users, including entrepreneurs, business owners, and investors. This initiative aims to accelerate transaction completion while enhancing user experience by reducing processing times by up to 35%, lowering costs, and achieving more accurate outputs. It also seeks to increase the number of registered national and international trademarks and decrease complaints and disputes related to similarity. This service can be accessed on the ministry’s official website.

Furthermore, it was explained that this technology has been integrated into the trademark digital system, focusing on three main pathways supported by AI. The first pathway is the smart assistant, which will provide recommendations and suggestions for a variety of models and trademarks relevant to the applicant’s business activity, helping them innovate and create a distinctive trademark.

The second pathway involves similar trademarks, relying on intelligent search capabilities within the trademark registration database to identify matching or similar trademarks to the proposed one, as part of the trademark inquiry service. The third pathway, termed smart examination, conducts precise evaluations to determine the degree of similarity or duplication between trademarks based on the ministry’s registered database.

Robotic Automation

The ministry also highlighted its “Robotic Process Automation” technology, an advanced approach utilizing AI-powered software robots to automate repetitive and high-volume tasks across multiple systems, with minimal human intervention. These robots simulate human actions to execute tasks such as data extraction, validation, and input across various applications.

This technology has been implemented in the initial phase for the “Business Profile” service, analyzing unstructured data from documents, emails, and various forms submitted by business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs establishing their companies and economic activities. This capability enables the ministry to efficiently and effectively automate its administrative and operational processes, accelerating transaction completion. It is anticipated that Robotic Process Automation will be applied to additional ministry services in the near future.
