Emirates Airlines Anticipates a Significant Surge in Travel During the First Week of January

Emirates Airlines anticipates a significant surge in travel during the first week of January, with a high volume of departures and arrivals expected from January 2 to January 5. Passengers are strongly advised to arrive at the airport four hours prior to their flight due to potential traffic congestion on the routes leading to the airport, limited parking availability, and increased airport activity.

The airline encourages travelers to take advantage of various services designed to facilitate a faster and smoother travel experience.

1. Utilize Remote Check-in Options

Customers can save time at the airport by checking in at the check-in center located at the Dubai International Financial Centre. This facility, strategically situated in the business district, offers complimentary parking for Emirates passengers who check in and drop off luggage up to 24 hours before their flight, or as little as 4 hours in advance. Those completing check-in and luggage drop-off at this location until January 15 will receive a bonus of 2,500 Skywards miles per traveler. The center operates daily from 8 AM to midnight until January 15.

Additionally, travelers can check in ahead of time at the Emirates center in Ajman, which operates 24 hours and is located at the Ajman Central Bus Station, allowing check-in from 24 hours to 4 hours prior to their flight departure.

2. Book Home Check-in Service in Dubai and Sharjah

Emirates offers customers the option of home check-in in Dubai and Sharjah, where airline staff handle check-in at the customer’s home, hotel, or office, transporting luggage to the airport. This allows passengers to arrive at the airport with only their carry-on items. This service must be booked at least 24 hours before the flight, and early reservations are recommended to ensure availability. Home check-in is provided free of charge for first-class customers and platinum members of the Skywards program.

3. Use Public Transport like the Dubai Metro to the Airport

The Dubai Metro offers a quick and convenient means of reaching Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport via the red line, providing direct access to the airport. Trains run regularly from early morning until late at night, making this a practical option for avoiding peak traffic congestion. Passengers can disembark at the dedicated Terminal 3 station, which is directly connected to the terminal by moving walkways and escalators, simplifying access to check-in, departure, and arrival areas. The metro can also be used for returning home after arrival.

4. Arrive at Dubai International Airport Four Hours Before Departure

Emirates recommends that passengers reach Dubai International Airport four hours before their scheduled departure to ensure ample time for check-in, baggage drop, immigration procedures, and to make it to the boarding gate at least one hour prior to the flight. Travelers are also urged to select their seats in advance and ensure that all travel documents are valid and up to date.
