Emirates Airlines has announced an expansion of its premium economy class, aiming to provide a more uniform and elevated experience for passengers across its global network.
As part of its ongoing fleet modernization initiative, the airline plans to complete the upgrade of its first Airbus A380 aircraft with a three-class configuration by mid-April. This revamped layout will feature 76 business class seats, 56 premium economy seats, and 437 economy class seats.
The newly configured aircraft will operate on flights EK 903/904 between Dubai and Amman from April 14 to May 31, before transitioning to fly routes EK 139/140 to Prague starting June 1. By November, Emirates expects to have upgraded all 15 of its Airbus A380s to the new three-class configuration. Additionally, more updated aircraft are scheduled to enter service from March, with operations to Basra beginning May 1 on flights EK 945/946 using the upgraded Boeing 777-LR300 featuring four classes, making premium economy available on all five weekly flights to Basra. For New York’s JFK Airport, starting April 1, flights EK 201/202 will operate on the newly configured Airbus A380 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with daily service commencing June 1. Zurich will also see upgraded service starting March 1 with flights EK 85/86 operated by the four-class Airbus A380, offering over 1,500 premium economy seats weekly between Zurich and Dubai.
Service to Milan is set to start on May 10, with flights EK 101/102 using the renovated Boeing 777-LR200 featuring three classes, which includes the premium economy option. Meanwhile, Dublin will have flights EK 165/166 operated by the updated Boeing 777-LR200 with three classes beginning October 25, providing premium economy seats on all 21 weekly flights to that destination.
Moreover, flights to Ho Chi Minh City will commence on May 1, using the updated Boeing 777-LR200 with three-class configuration, ensuring over 600 premium economy seats available weekly on daily flights. From October 1, the service to Hong Kong will upgrade flights EK 382/383 from the Boeing 777-LR300 to the Airbus A380, with the updated A380 featuring premium economy starting December 1.
Additionally, flights to Entebbe will be launched on March 29, with routes EK 729/730 operated by the new Airbus A350. Service to Mauritius will begin on the same date, with flights EK 709/710 conducted by the renovated Boeing 777-LR200 featuring three classes.
Starting October 1, Emirates will upgrade flights EK 362/363 between Dubai and Guangzhou from the Boeing 777-LR300 to the three-class Airbus A380, which will include first class, business class, and economy class areas.
