Emirates Airlines has announced the implementation of an interline partnership agreement with Bahamasair, enhancing travel options for customers heading to the Bahamas. This collaboration allows Emirates to broaden its services in the Caribbean, enabling its passengers to fly with Bahamasair, the national carrier of the Bahamas, from two airports in Florida to two destinations within the Bahamas: Nassau on Paradise Island and Freeport on Grand Bahama Island.
The interline agreement was activated following a memorandum of understanding signed between the two airlines last June. Now, Emirates travelers can book their entire journey from any point within the airline’s network to either Orlando or Miami, and then continue their travel to Nassau or Freeport, all on a single ticket with a unified baggage policy for both carriers.
Miami and Orlando airports in Florida are among the twelve destinations currently served by Emirates in the United States. The airline operates daily flights to Miami using a modern Boeing 777 with a four-class configuration and five weekly flights to Orlando on a three-class Boeing 777. Through these two airports, customers can connect to Bahamasair flights operated with Boeing 737s to key destinations within the Bahamas.
Earlier this year, Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Bahamas to collaborate on promoting tourism to this Caribbean destination.
