The world’s largest food sector gathering, “Gulfood 2026,” has announced the launch of “Gulfood Logistics” at the Dubai Exhibition Center located within Expo Dubai.
This initiative comes as projections indicate the global logistics and transportation market will increase from $9.4 trillion in 2024 to $23 trillion by 2035, highlighting the strategic economic importance of logistics services in global trade and food supply systems.
With the growing interconnection of food systems worldwide, “Gulfood 2026” emphasizes logistical networks, cold chain systems, and shipping innovations that ensure the sustainability of food supplies, as well as cross-border collaborations that enhance their efficacy.
As approximately 70% to 90% of the value of global trade is transported by sea, logistical efficiency has become a key strategic pillar for the economy, directly influencing global GDP, supply reliability, and food accessibility for consumers.
The “Gulfood Logistics” platform, part of “Gulfood 2026,” underscores the vital role of international cooperation in ensuring a secure and sustainable flow of food amid an increasingly complex global landscape.
The platform showcases the latest technologies, infrastructure, and partnerships that facilitate the efficient transport of perishable products, maintaining their quality and freshness across continents, thereby linking suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
Thanks to Dubai’s strategic location as a connection point between Europe, Asia, and Africa, the United Arab Emirates has established itself as the largest logistics hub in the Middle East, accounting for approximately 30% of the logistics activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council region and contributing roughly 8% to the national GDP.
