The Economic Development Department of Ras Al Khaimah has reported conducting 43,254 field inspections of various commercial establishments throughout the emirate in 2025. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance the business environment, ensure compliance with existing regulations, and support sustainable economic activities.
According to Faisal Abdullah Alyoun, the Director of the Commercial Control and Protection Department, the inspections focused on monitoring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and verifying the implementation of best business practices that protect consumer rights while improving efficiency and quality in local markets.
He mentioned that the department recorded 5,827 inspections that involved verifying licenses and business activities, noting observations, and providing necessary guidance and recommendations to business owners. These actions aim to promote a culture of voluntary compliance, enhance commercial performance, and improve service quality.
Alyoun emphasized that the increase in regulatory inspections reflects the department’s commitment to ensuring market discipline, safeguarding consumer rights, and ensuring that businesses adhere to laws and regulations governing commercial activities. He added that inspection teams operate based on well-planned strategies and modern methodologies that enhance the efficiency of regulatory oversight and achieve high levels of compliance.
He further stated that the department continues to develop field inspection methods and strengthen collaboration with business owners, which supports the creation of a secure and attractive business environment for investment, thus contributing to the sustainable economic development goals of Ras Al Khaimah.
