His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, welcomed the guests participating in the 13th edition of the Energy Markets Forum, hosted by the Emirate of Fujairah.
His Highness expressed his gratitude to the forum’s attendees, highlighting their contributions to enriching the discussions. He emphasized the significance of these dialogue sessions in enhancing collaboration, sharing expertise, and formulating recommendations that can strengthen decision-making capabilities and effectively develop energy sector policies.
He acknowledged the forum’s role in attracting a distinguished group of oil and industry experts, which fosters international cooperation and creates future opportunities, solidifying the UAE’s position as a key player in global energy markets.
His Highness remarked that thanks to the vision and guidance of our wise leadership, the UAE is leading the transition to a secure and sustainable economy, developing strategies that effectively transform the oil and energy sector, thereby enhancing the UAE’s strategic global position, as it serves as a vital hub in the maritime sector across the Middle East.
He pointed out Fujairah’s pivotal role as a cornerstone in both the regional and global energy sectors, its key position in oil services, and its contribution to stabilizing global energy markets.
In turn, forum attendees extended their appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi for his warm welcome and notable support for projects and initiatives aimed at sharing global expertise, along with his ongoing efforts to advance the oil and energy industries. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Saeed Al Dhaheri, Director of the Emiri Court, and Captain Mousa Mourad, Director of Fujairah Port.
Additionally, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi received Engineer Karim Badawi, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, along with his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Egypt, particularly in the areas of energy, petroleum, and related industries, to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
His Highness praised the strong brotherly ties that unite the two countries, noting their continuous development in various fields.
He reiterated the efforts made by Fujairah in the realm of global energy markets and the flexible investment incentives provided to entrepreneurs in this sector, aimed at achieving sustainable economic integration in energy.
For his part, the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness, commending the UAE’s leading role in advancing the energy sector and Fujairah’s crucial presence in global oil trade and storage, given its advanced capabilities and technologies that have enhanced economic indicators regionally and internationally.
Furthermore, during the visit of the Egyptian delegation, a partnership and investment exchange agreement in energy was signed between Fujairah and Egypt, attended by Mohammed Al Dhaheri and Engineer Karim Badawi, aimed at deepening the energy investment partnership between the two sides.
Opening Ceremony
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, the forum was inaugurated by Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Department of Industry and Economy and President of Fujairah Port Authority, in the presence of Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority and Vice President of Fujairah’s Petroleum Industries Area, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Fujairah.
Sheikh Saleh Al Sharqi stated that the convening of the forum comes amid rapid global transformations, presenting major challenges to the global economy, particularly concerning energy market stability, ensuring the continuity of supply flows, and striking a balance between environmental transformations and economic growth demands.
He added that Fujairah’s efforts are evident through this forum in establishing itself as a center that gathers leaders and experts to chart stable developmental and economic trajectories. The forum explored several significant topics in energy markets.
These discussions included current geo-economic developments, the impact of trade and protectionist policies on supply chains, investment prospects in maritime and energy infrastructure, and the importance of enhancing international partnerships to broaden cooperation between East and West, ensuring greater resilience against rapid changes in energy markets.
Additionally, an awards ceremony for the Aramco New Silk Road Award was held, attended by Sheikh Saleh bin Mohammed Al Sharqi and Sheikh Dr. Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi, in conjunction with the discussions of the Energy Markets Forum, which concluded yesterday.
