The Global Future Energy Summit 2026, organized by Masdar, will be a focal point of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, addressing the economic and geopolitical challenges faced by the rapidly growing solar energy sector. The event is slated to take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from January 13 to 15, featuring a conference and exhibition dedicated to solar and clean energy. This gathering will showcase cutting-edge technologies and leading strategies while bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and innovators to discuss ways to enhance solar energy management in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Innovation Platform
The summit will delve into the current challenges surrounding the integration and utilization of solar energy solutions, particularly the instability of its supply, which places stress on electricity networks and leads to voltage fluctuations. Additionally, discussions will highlight the efforts of various countries to develop innovative methods for cross-border energy exchange and distribution.
Revenue Generation
Nicholas Burr, the general manager of Pure Oil, will participate in a session focusing on transforming untapped renewable energy sources into new revenue streams. The session will explore how surplus electricity can be converted into steady income through dynamic and adaptable purchasing entities, ranging from Bitcoin miners to flexible data centers. Burr commented, “As solar energy usage continues to rise, the real challenge is no longer just about production, but also about integrating and utilizing this energy effectively. The region has a unique ability to establish new standards, demonstrating the potential to provide sufficient solar energy to meet actual demand while ensuring the system’s broad reliability.”
Shyam Parmer, director of the Global Future Energy Summit, mentioned, “The summit serves as a gathering point for the solar and clean energy community in the region, aiming to foster collaborative opportunities that will propel the next phase of solar energy growth across the Middle East and North Africa.”
