UAE and Canada Explore Strengthening Partnerships in New Economic Sectors

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, met with Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta, Canada, to discuss opportunities for enhancing economic and investment partnerships. The dialogue focused on expanding collaboration in new economic sectors, especially clean energy, food security, tourism, digital technologies, space, and advanced manufacturing. The two sides explored ways to increase investment flows and foster innovation while establishing new channels for cooperation between Emirati and Canadian business communities.

This meeting took place during the “Investopia – Alberta” event hosted in Calgary, Canada, which brought together influential leaders and senior investors from both nations to explore economic cooperation and investment opportunities in future-oriented sectors.

During the meeting, Minister Al Marri emphasized the UAE’s commitment to broadening its economic partnerships globally. He praised the advancements in UAE-Canada relations, particularly with Alberta, which serves as a key economic hub for clean energy and advanced technologies. Al Marri pointed out that “Investopia,” through its various discussion sessions and bilateral meetings, serves as a crucial instrument for linking the business communities in the UAE and Alberta with promising opportunities in rapidly growing markets. He affirmed that the outcomes of this meeting would contribute to establishing long-term partnerships that promote sustainable economic growth and mutual interests.
