Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the Minister of Foreign Trade, led an Emirati delegation comprising senior officials and business leaders to Senegal. During the visit, he met with President Macky Sall and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, along with various ministers and high-ranking officials, with the participation of Saeed Hamdan Al Naqbi, the UAE Ambassador to Senegal.
In these discussions, the minister conveyed the warm greetings of the UAE leadership to both the Senegalese President and Prime Minister, extending wishes for further development and prosperity for the friendly nation of Senegal and its people.
Throughout the meetings, Al Zeyoudi and the Senegalese side explored ways to enhance collaboration and elevate it to new heights. The discussions primarily focused on identifying mechanisms to boost trade and investment flows between the two countries, particularly in key sectors such as renewable energy, infrastructure, and food security.
Furthermore, the minister reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening developmental partnerships and facilitating private sector cooperation with African nations, especially Senegal.
Al Zeyoudi also sought new avenues for collaboration and investment opportunities during bilateral meetings with several ministers and senior officials, resulting in the signing of 13 memoranda of understanding.
