The seventh edition of the “Jewels of the Emirates” exhibition concluded on Sunday, organized by the Sharjah Expo Center with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This exceptional five-day event attracted thousands of visitors and featured participation from over 180 exhibitors representing jewelry makers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Italy, Russia, Turkey, Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, and more.
The exhibition showcased more than 500 local and international brands from the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. It included prominent names specializing in gold, silver, diamonds, precious stones, natural pearls, and luxury watches, reaffirming its status as a leading platform on the global map of jewelry trade and industry events.
For the first time, the exhibition introduced the “Luxury Pavilion,” designed as a distinct showcase for high-end brands and fine jewelry. This exclusive area featured the creations of select elite designers and prestigious global brands, attracting a distinguished audience of prominent collectors, major buyers, and industry experts, and achieving exceptional attendance that transformed it into a destination for quality enthusiasts.
Alongside the exhibition, the second edition of the “Sharjah Pearls Exhibition” was launched to celebrate the heritage of traditional Emirati pearl diving. This initiative included specialized evenings organized in partnership with the American Gemological Institute. Additionally, the “Emirati Goldsmiths” platform, a project of the Sharjah Chamber, continued its support for Emirati designers, achieving a 10% growth in the number of registered female designers.
Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the Jewels of the Emirates exhibition has become a strategic platform among a series of commercial events and exhibitions playing a pivotal role in supporting the knowledge-based economy that the Emirate of Sharjah promotes. He emphasized that the exhibition serves as a fundamental element in the Chamber’s strategy to enhance the emirate’s position as a regional and international hub for the gold and jewelry industry. He noted the Chamber’s commitment to providing an integrated entrepreneurial environment to support small and medium enterprises in the creative industries, contributing to achieving the UAE’s Centennial Goals by empowering young national talents and equipping them with the tools necessary for sustainable competitiveness in the precious metals and gemstones market.
He added that the successes achieved by the exhibition in attracting industry and design experts from around the world underscore the significance of the Sharjah Expo Center’s agenda and its role in organizing major events in the emirate. He reiterated the Chamber’s dedication to supporting the Center in continuing its efforts to host quality events that foster the growth of the gold and jewelry sector and enhance its global competitiveness. He mentioned that the Chamber’s initiatives aimed at improving the business environment include supporting local artisans in international exhibitions, providing additional protection for national design identity, and facilitating the entry of emerging Emirati brands into international markets to establish the UAE as a global destination for innovation in the luxury jewelry industry.
Saeed Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of the Sharjah Expo Center, indicated that the seventh edition of the Jewels of the Emirates exhibition set new standards for the event by launching the “Luxury Pavilion” and expanding international knowledge partnerships, while focusing on the uniqueness of gemstones in jewelry design. He noted the exhibition’s success in achieving its goals, merging commercial interests with an emphasis on design innovation and support for creative industries. He highlighted that the continuous growth in the number of international pavilions, coupled with an increase in both Emirati designers and exhibitors, reflects the growing confidence in the exhibition as a global platform that combines commercial excellence with the preservation of heritage in the fields of gold, pearls, and gemstones. He reaffirmed the Sharjah Expo Center’s commitment to establishing the emirate as a global leader in this luxurious industry, which has its pioneers and audience.
Mana Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office at the Sharjah Chamber and head of the “Emirati Goldsmiths” platform, stated that participation in the Jewels of the Emirates exhibition represents the most important milestone in the annual agenda of the platform. This year, new exclusive collections were unveiled that illustrate the fusion of traditional symbols with contemporary designs using inherited craftsmanship and modern technological tools. She added that the Jewels of the Emirates exhibition is an ideal platform for launching new brands and enabling many female designers to transform their passion into successful commercial ventures that garner attention, which helps preserve traditional crafts by updating them to suit high global tastes. She emphasized that the platform’s participation in the exhibition supports transforming the passion of young designers into sustainable brands that can compete in global markets.
