Saif Mohammed Al Mudaife, the CEO of the Sharjah Expo Center, emphasized the United Arab Emirates’ leadership in sustainability and clean energy topics, particularly in the realm of clean and autonomous transportation.
In an interview, Al Mudaife stated that the UAE possesses excellent infrastructure that supports the broader adoption of electric and self-driving vehicles. He highlighted the country’s forward-looking approach to the transportation sector, which is undergoing rapid changes.
He noted that the number of electric vehicles is continuously rising, reflecting the country’s strong commitment to clean transportation and the support of the national economy. Al Mudaife mentioned that several modern and innovative technologies in the transportation sector are readily available.
He remarked that while the focus used to be on traditional car exhibitions, the recent event “Future Mobility” at the Sharjah Expo Center, supported by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed to embrace the swift transformations in the transportation landscape.
During the exhibition, various international experts provided deep strategic insights on economic growth and development in the sector. Discussions included experiences from leading global charging point operators and presented a practical roadmap for expanding electric mobility. The speakers highlighted promising investment opportunities in the sector and discussed funding strategies for the electric vehicle ecosystem, emphasizing that the UAE’s stable and conducive economic environment makes it an attractive destination for both local and international investments. They called for the establishment of strategic partnerships between public and private sectors to accelerate ambitious projects in this field.
Conversations among participants also addressed the roles of manufacturers and innovators. A panel discussion on “The Future of Mobility in the UAE” featured active participation from industry leaders like Adam Ridgway, CEO of “One Moto,” who discussed how automakers are shaping market dynamics and meeting the growing demand for zero-emission vehicles.
Barbara Lipar, a representative of “Manta Aircraft” in the Middle East and Africa, delivered a keynote session on the “Revolution of Advanced Air Mobility,” highlighting the future role of electric aerial vehicles in transportation and how cities are preparing to transition from ground to air travel, opening entirely new possibilities for urban mobility.
A specialized session addressed pathways toward a “circular economy” in the electric vehicle industry, with discussions centered around “Battery Manufacturing and Recycling.” Expert Rozul Rai, founder and CEO of “Circle Clean Energy Technologies,” emphasized how recycling can reduce environmental impacts, create new economic value, and enhance supply chain security.
