Under the Guidance of Maktoum Bin Mohammed, “Dubai Week for the Future of the Financial Sector 2026” Redefines the Global Financial Landscape

Amid rapid structural transformations in global financial markets, the inaugural Dubai Financial Sector Future Week will take place from May 11 to 15, 2026. This event will bring together a distinguished group of international leaders across finance, business, politics, technology, and investment, featuring a comprehensive agenda of high-level seminars and forums at various locations throughout Dubai.

The event is organized under the guidance and patronage of Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of the Dubai International Financial Centre, highlighting Dubai’s leading role as a global hub for discussions surrounding forces and trends reshaping capital markets, fostering innovation, supporting sustainability, and reinforcing governance principles.

Sheikh Maktoum emphasized that this initiative stems from Dubai’s commitment to playing a significant role in developing a smart and sustainable global economy. He stated that the purpose of bringing together influential leaders in the financial services sector in Dubai is to enhance collaboration and unify efforts to tackle common global challenges, while opening pathways to a prosperous future for the global financial sector.

He also highlighted the event’s potential to create new opportunities for collaboration, drive innovation, share constructive ideas, and encourage active participation, enabling markets to achieve further growth and prosperity. Furthermore, this global gathering supports Dubai’s economic agenda, D33, particularly in its aim to position Dubai among the world’s top four financial centers and to build a smart, diversified economy that meets future demands.

Dubai Financial Sector Future Week will serve as a comprehensive platform led by the Dubai International Financial Centre, uniting key financial forums and events under the theme “Reimagining Finance: Where Innovation Meets Policy and Purpose.”

The FinTech Summit, held under Sheikh Maktoum’s patronage, will be the highlight of the week, themed “Connecting Markets… Empowering Economic Transformation.” Its presence will amplify the week’s significance by gathering top global leaders, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a pivotal player in shaping the future of the financial sector.

Over five days, various venues across Dubai will host in-depth strategic discussions covering significant aspects of modern finance—from capital markets and private wealth to institutional investments, digital assets, and sustainability-focused finance.

Each event within the schedule will delve into specific aspects of transformation in financial services, facilitating direct engagement between participants and representatives from international institutions, industry leaders, and decision-makers through a series of interconnected forums. Together, these events will create a structured environment for cross-sector knowledge sharing and practical engagement in shaping future opportunities.

By consolidating these discussions into a coordinated week, Dubai Financial Sector Future Week will establish the emirate as a unified platform linking topics that are often discussed separately. This will allow participants to explore the interconnections among various developments and engage in priorities that transcend traditional industry boundaries, enhancing Dubai’s role in leading the global dialogue on the future of financial services.

Issa Kazim, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre, stated that Dubai’s vision includes contributing to shaping the future of the global economy. The launch of Dubai Financial Sector Future Week is a natural extension of this ambitious vision, underscoring the emirate’s role as a catalyst for ideas, collaboration, and forward-looking growth in international markets. He reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to influencing the pace of financial and economic progress worldwide, anticipating that this week will strengthen that position through the facilitation of effective engagement in finance, technology, regulation, and investment.

Arif Amiri, CEO of the Dubai International Financial Centre Authority, noted that Dubai Financial Sector Future Week reflects their dedication to providing platforms that facilitate the exchange of ideas and exploration of new opportunities within the global financial community. As a leading financial hub in the region, Dubai is uniquely positioned to offer a focused, unified platform for decision-makers to engage on critical issues and concerns. As global markets evolve, Dubai continues to play a central role in shaping the future of the financial sector through its interconnected operational ecosystem relied upon by key players in this vital sector.

The FinTech Summit will return to Madinat Jumeirah with an expanded agenda aimed at enhancing international collaboration and extending growth prospects within the global financial innovation sector.

The summit is expected to attract over 10,000 participants from more than 150 countries, in addition to more than 1,000 investors, over 300 regional and international speakers, and more than 250 sponsors representing over 25 specialized sectors.

The 2026 edition will introduce a dedicated investor zone and a strategic deal-making center, alongside new pavilions for participating countries to strengthen cross-border partnerships, featuring curated content addressing emerging trends in digital finance, AI-driven technologies, and regulatory innovations. These additions build on the ongoing momentum of the summit and its significant role in the regional financial innovation landscape, supported by the continuous growth of the Dubai International Financial Centre as a global hub for financial innovation.

The week will also include specialized platforms to explore the frameworks and standards that will shape the future of financial services. Notable forums include the “Seamless Middle East 2026,” discussing digital trade, payments, and financial infrastructure, as well as the “Reg 3” forum, which will gather regulators, policymakers, and market participants to examine supervisory innovation and cross-border regulatory developments. Collectively, these forums will establish a foundation for addressing how to ensure the interconnectivity and efficiency of global financial systems while anticipating future needs.

Additionally, a series of leading meetings will focus on long-term capital allocation and sustainable economic growth. The Family Wealth Summit at the Dubai International Financial Centre will delve into the priorities of family-owned businesses and the increasing role of private markets, while the “Future Sustainability Forum” will explore the growing importance of sustainability-focused finance and climate-aligned investments. Simultaneously, the “Islamic Finance Forum” will highlight developments in Sharia-compliant markets, reflecting Dubai’s solid standing as a global center for Islamic finance.

Additional program components will provide a comprehensive perspective on sector performance, emerging economic models, and project activities across the region. Highlighted events include the Banking Excellence Awards in the MENA region, recognizing transformation in the banking sector; the Solana Economic Zone, offering insights into decentralized technologies and digital economic models; the International Private Equity Markets (IPEM) Future Conference in Dubai, bringing together private market leaders to assess capital flows and investment trends; and the annual Dubai Future District Fund meeting, spotlighting advancements in the emirate’s innovation and project ecosystems.

The program represents the largest and most comprehensive gathering of financial and future-oriented events in the region, providing institutions, innovators, and policymakers a singular platform to engage on shared priorities, explore new avenues of opportunity, and contribute to the long-term growth of the sector.
