Recently, the 21st edition of the International Education Expo concluded at the Sharjah Expo Centre. This event was organized with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Over the course of four days, the expo achieved remarkable success, attracting more than 30,000 visitors, including students and their parents, and featuring participation from over 100 prestigious universities and educational institutions from more than 16 countries.
UAE universities drew significant interest from those seeking innovative educational programs. Renowned academic institutions such as the Higher Colleges of Technology, the University of the Emirates, Khalifa University, Zayed University, the Indian Institute of Technology – Delhi (Abu Dhabi branch), the American University of Sharjah, the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, and the University of Sharjah showcased their latest educational tracks, aligned with future directions in a knowledge-based economy. Saif Al Midfa, the CEO of the Sharjah Expo Centre, indicated that the expo reflects Sharjah’s vision to support innovation-driven sectors by emphasizing quality education opportunities and direct investment in educational options. This approach aims to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of the economy, enabling future leaders to possess the knowledge necessary to bridge the gap between academic outputs and the evolving labor market demands, while meeting the needs of industrial and commercial sectors.
