Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Launches ‘The Plaza’ in the Heart of Uptown Dubai

The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre has officially launched “The Plaza” in Uptown Dubai, a spacious outdoor area spanning 21,000 square meters that serves as a vital cornerstone in the overall development plan for the region. This venue is designed to host corporate conferences, public events, and major celebrations, accommodating up to 4,000 guests, thereby enhancing Uptown Dubai’s ability to attract global enterprises across various sectors as the area enters a new phase of expansion.

Strategically located in the heart of the region, “The Plaza” acts as a crucial link connecting the Uptown Tower with various surrounding commercial and residential landmarks. This position significantly improves connectivity within the Uptown community, ensuring a cohesive experience for both visitors and residents. The area features advanced digital and technical infrastructure, including modern lighting systems and display platforms, which facilitate smooth event organization and maintain operational momentum throughout the year, effectively serving the commerce, finance, and technology sectors.

According to Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, “The inauguration of The Plaza marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Uptown Dubai. It transforms the area into a unifying destination for people through business, culture, and shared experiences. With its expansive space and capacity to host 4,000 guests, The Plaza offers exceptional opportunities, solidifying Uptown Dubai’s position as a key platform for major international events and daily community life. As we continue to implement the overall plan for Uptown Dubai, The Plaza will play a central role in revitalizing the area and creating a strong sense of place, supporting Dubai’s vision of being one of the world’s best cities for living, working, and visiting.”

The launch comes alongside progress on the next phase of the project, which includes the development of two commercial towers standing 23 and 17 stories tall, adding a total of 62,000 square meters of premium office and retail space. Once fully completed, the comprehensive plan for the region is expected to provide a total of 538,000 square meters of floor space, including 232,000 square meters designated for high-end commercial offices.

As development accelerates, Uptown Dubai continues its journey towards becoming an integrated area that supports long-term business sustainability, attracting global talent to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading hub for trade, innovation, and investment.
