The General Civil Aviation Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with Abu Dhabi Aviation Group aimed at enhancing collaboration for practical training programs in aircraft maintenance under the “Gear” program. This initiative seeks to prepare qualified national personnel to meet the aviation sector’s needs and promote its sustainability.
The memorandum was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, and Mahmoud Al Hay Al Hameeli, the CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group.
This agreement outlines a collaborative framework to regulate the execution of practical training programs in aircraft maintenance and establish oversight mechanisms, ensuring organizational compliance with the authority’s regulations, thereby fostering integrated efforts among stakeholders and supporting employment pathways in the industry.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi emphasized that this agreement aligns with the authority’s commitment to building strategic partnerships for developing national competencies. He noted that the practical training programs in aircraft maintenance represent a crucial pathway for equipping individuals to fulfill labor market requirements. He added that investing in hands-on training and empowering Emirati youth with professional experiences reflects the authority’s dedication to supporting the aviation sector’s sustainability and enhancing its competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Mahmoud Al Hay Al Hameeli, CEO of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, remarked that the “Gear” program is one of the initiatives launched by the group to qualify and train Emirati personnel. The goal is to provide citizens with specialized practical experience in the aviation sector, facilitating localization efforts and fostering highly qualified talent for this vital industry.
