Auto World Invests 45 Million Dirhams to Establish Facility in Jafza

Auto World International, the regional distributor for India’s Bajaj Auto, has announced a significant investment of 45 million dirhams to establish a new distribution and logistics center in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The investment agreement was officially signed in the presence of Abdullah bin Dmeithan, CEO and General Manager of DP World for the Gulf Cooperation Council; Abdullah Al Hashimi, CEO of Operations, Clusters and Free Zones at DP World; Kumar Motiram Lakhani, Chairman of Auto World; Monish Lakhani, Managing Director of the company; and Vishal Lakhani, a manager at Auto World.

The facility will span 162,000 square feet, incorporating an assembly plant for Bajaj motorcycles and three-wheeled vehicles, along with storage and distribution areas for spare parts, tires, and lubricants. The center is expected to be operational by 2026, facilitating the launch of new production lines in partnerships with global manufacturers to enhance the company’s presence.

This new center will enhance Auto World International’s capability to serve the rapidly growing markets in Africa and the Middle East, offering competitively priced and fuel-efficient two and three-wheeled motorcycles.

Abdullah Al Hashimi, CEO of Operations, Clusters and Free Zones at DP World, stated: “The expansion of Auto World underscores the strength of the integrated trade and logistics ecosystem in JAFZA, which currently hosts 940 companies from 88 countries and supported the automotive trade sector with nearly 102 billion dirhams in the last year alone. We take pride in supporting our long-standing partners like Auto World, who connect global manufacturers with high-potential markets through Dubai.”

The project is expected to generate over 100 direct and indirect job opportunities, bolstering Dubai’s growing transport and logistics sector. It further emphasizes the UAE’s role as a pivotal trading hub, linking manufacturers with global markets. It is noteworthy that JAFZA facilitated nearly 48% of Dubai’s automotive trade volume in 2024.

Auto World has been operating from JAFZA for over 16 years, leveraging its world-class infrastructure to distribute Bajaj motorcycles across approximately 25 countries. This initiative aligns with DP World’s broader strategy to develop the automotive trade sector in the region, including plans to establish the largest global car market in Dubai, which is projected to double its current annual sales of 6.8 billion dirhams.
