Etihad Airways has launched its inaugural flight to Atlanta, marking an expansion of its presence in the United States and enhancing cultural and commercial connections between the heart of the Southeastern U.S. and Abu Dhabi.
In a recent press release, the airline announced: “This service represents a significant milestone in Etihad’s growth in North America. The inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi International Airport arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, making Atlanta the fifth U.S. destination in Etihad’s global network, joining New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Boston.”
Travelers departing from Abu Dhabi can take advantage of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s pre-clearance facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport, the only one of its kind in the region, allowing passengers to complete U.S. immigration and customs procedures before departing, and thus arrive in the U.S. as domestic travelers.
This new route addresses the growing demand for travel between the UAE and the United States, originally launched with four weekly flights. However, due to high occupancy rates and significant early booking interest, Etihad has expedited the increase in flight frequency, with plans to introduce daily flights starting in November 2025.
Antono Aldo Neves, CEO of Etihad, stated: “This new service enhances access to the Southeastern United States, while providing seamless connections to the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and Asia through our main hub in Abu Dhabi.”
