This event took place at an official ceremony in Berlin, which saw the participation of more than 150 business leaders and stakeholders, along with high-ranking officials and business representatives from both nations during Dr. Al Jaber’s working visit to Germany.

The establishment of this council aims to further strengthen the robust economic ties that have developed over more than fifty years of fruitful collaboration and mutual understanding. This initiative seeks to open new avenues for trade and investment between the two countries, enhancing opportunities for sustainable growth amid global economic and geopolitical shifts.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber stated, “In line with the wise leadership’s vision to forge quality partnerships that contribute to comprehensive progress, we are focused on strengthening the historically close relations between the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany, elevating them to new heights of fruitful collaboration.”

He expressed confidence that the launch of the UAE-Germany Business Council would create further cooperation opportunities in vital sectors of mutual interest, supporting the private sector and enhancing its role in achieving sustainable economic growth.

During the official ceremony, the document for the UAE-Germany Business Council was signed by Mubarak Al Kaabi, CEO of the Exploration, Development, and Production Division at ADNOC and co-chair of the council, and Günther Oettinger, former Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg and co-chair of the council.

Mubarak Al Kaabi remarked, “The UAE and Germany share a bold and common vision for global progress, grounded in bilateral trade and mutual interests driven by innovation. The UAE-Germany Business Council will undoubtedly accelerate the pace of our partnership, support sustainable development and economic prosperity, and enhance the close cooperation that mirrors our shared ambitions in a rapidly changing world.”

The ceremony also featured the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Masdar, a global leader in clean energy, and NBPW – Energy Baden-Württemberg, one of Europe’s largest energy suppliers, aimed at exploring collaboration opportunities in battery storage projects in Germany and the United Kingdom.

Additionally, the two companies will investigate potential partnerships in offshore wind projects in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, along with focusing on green hydrogen and other renewable energy technologies.
