Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy and Tourism, emphasized the continuous growth of UAE-China relations across various economic and developmental sectors, particularly in tourism, which serves as a fundamental pillar for enhancing cultural and economic exchange between the two nations.
He highlighted the importance of broadening cooperation in joint tourism promotion, exchanging expertise and knowledge, and fostering quality investments in the tourism, hospitality, and aviation sectors, all contributing to the growth and sustainability of the tourism industry in both friendly countries.
This was stated during his meeting with Wang Haimin, chairman of the China Tourism Group, attended by Sheikha Nasser Al Nowais, the elected Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization for the 2026-2029 period, held on the sidelines of the “Investopia – Beijing” dialogues.
The event took place in the Chinese capital and featured wide participation from business leaders, investors, innovators, officials, decision-makers, and entrepreneurs from both countries.
Both parties discussed mechanisms to enhance Chinese investments in the UAE markets, focusing on hotels, tourist resorts, shopping centers, and entertainment venues, along with the possibility of developing joint tourism programs targeting travelers from both sides.
They also explored ways to enhance cooperation in tourism fields, particularly medical tourism, cultural tourism, and business and conference tourism. Discussions included strategies for deepening bilateral collaboration in sustainable tourism, green tourism, and recreational tourism, emphasizing the development of fruitful partnerships between companies and tourism agencies in both countries.
