The 56th edition of the Middle East Watch and Jewelry Show commenced yesterday, marking the largest event of its kind on the trade show calendar in the UAE and the surrounding region. Organized by the Sharjah Expo Center with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this five-day event features broad participation from over 500 exhibitors and 1,800 prominent designers, artisans, and industry professionals representing major local and international brands.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Sharjah Expo Center, alongside several board members, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Sharjah Expo Center, and notable official figures, diplomats, traders, and representatives from the gold and jewelry sector.

Among the show’s highlights are unique and extraordinary pieces of gold, jewelry, and diamonds, including the “Dubai Dress” presented by Al Ramzan Jewelry, which has earned a Guinness World Record for being the heaviest dress in the world made from 21-carat pure gold, weighing 10.08 kilograms and valued at 4.6 million dirhams. This masterpiece consists of four main components: a golden crown weighing 398 grams, a necklace weighing 8,810.60 grams, earrings weighing 134.1 grams, and a piece called “Heirar” that weighs 738.5 grams.

Attendees explored the exhibition space, covering more than 30,000 square meters, and received detailed explanations from exhibitors about their designs and new innovations. They visited the UAE Jewelers platform, which showcased a selection of Emirati designers, who shared insights into their featured participation and presented their latest collections of gold and diamond jewelry, characterized by unique, heritage-inspired designs.

Abdullah Sultan Al Owais emphasized that the exhibition serves as a pivotal platform that enhances the UAE’s standing as a global hub for gold and precious metal trade. He noted the ongoing success of the exhibition in attracting top companies, exceptional manufacturers, and designers from around the world, offering an ideal space for transactions, partnerships, investment, and collaboration among leading manufacturers and producers in the gold and jewelry sector, both regionally and globally. Additionally, it stands out as a distinguished destination for jewelry and watch enthusiasts, featuring the latest creations from the world’s leading jewelry houses and manufacturers. He commended the outstanding participation of the UAE Jewelers platform, which clearly showcases the innovative spirit of Emirati youth in jewelry design.

Saif Al Midfa remarked that the exhibition has become one of the most significant specialized events in the Middle East and North Africa, drawing in key players and renowned brands in the jewelry and watch manufacturing, design, and trade sectors. These companies are eager to participate annually to solidify their presence and expand their investments in the local and regional markets while showcasing their latest offerings to guests seeking new trends in gold and jewelry design. The exhibition will continue to welcome visitors today through Sunday from 1 PM to 10 PM, and tomorrow, Friday, from 3 PM to 10 PM.
