Abu Dhabi Ports Group has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kuwaiti Ports Authority to explore collaboration in the development and operation of container activities at the Shuaiba Port managed by the Kuwaiti authority.
The signing ceremony took place in Kuwait City, attended by the Honorable Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works of Kuwait, and the Honorable Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade. The agreement was signed by Sheikh Khalid Salem Al-Sabah, Director General of the Kuwaiti Ports Authority, and Captain Mohamed Jumaa Al-Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.
Under the terms of this MoU, Abu Dhabi Ports Group will conduct the necessary technical, environmental, and financial studies for the project, adhering to international standards set by both parties, including the required infrastructure specifications. In parallel, the Kuwaiti Ports Authority will identify the project area and provide support to Abu Dhabi Ports Group in completing the necessary studies and obtaining all permits and approvals from relevant Kuwaiti authorities.

Sheikh Khalid Salem Al-Sabah stated, “This MoU reflects the Kuwaiti Ports Authority’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Abu Dhabi Ports Group in the maritime transport and port sector, while fostering investment and economic collaboration based on mutual interests and benefits.” Captain Mohamed Jumaa Al-Shamsi added, “We are pleased with this partnership, which represents an extension of the strong relationship between Abu Dhabi Ports Group and leading institutions in our brotherly country of Kuwait.”
