In 2025, Careem continued to enhance the lives of millions and create income opportunities across the region. The comprehensive application expanded to new cities in the UAE, improving the reliability and speed of over 20 services, including food and grocery delivery, international money transfers, and taxi bookings. Careem’s rides in the UAE covered more than 160 million kilometers, equivalent to traveling to the moon and back over 200 times. Users of Careem Bike completed over 1.8 million rides, traveling more than 7.8 million kilometers, which resulted in a reduction of 1,200 tons of carbon emissions.
Mudathir Sheikha, the CEO and co-founder of Careem, stated that this year the company focused on enhancing the value provided to customers, drivers, and partners by expanding into new cities and introducing innovative services, while also making the platform smarter and more reliable through AI-driven solutions. Looking ahead to 2026, the company’s focus remains on simplifying lives in the region and building a strong organization that offers greater value year after year.
The year 2025 saw service expansions in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Sharjah. Careem partnered with the Majra National Fund for Social Responsibility to support over 60,000 delivery captains during the summer across all platforms.
Careem Quick became the first platform to collaborate directly with numerous local farms in the UAE, delivering fresh products to customers within just 24 hours of harvest.
Careem Pay achieved a record this year by completing a money transfer from the UAE to India in just 7 seconds. Approximately 20% of transfers were completed in under one minute, highlighting the speed and efficiency of the service. One user conducted over 480 transfers to India in 2025, while another transferred $620,000 to Pakistan throughout the year. October was the busiest month for transactions via Careem Pay, with peak sending activity occurring at 11 AM.
