The Abu Dhabi Airlines Group has announced the signing of five strategic memoranda of understanding with the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation and its affiliated companies. This took place during an official visit by a high-level Egyptian delegation to Abu Dhabi, which was led by Dr. Samah Hefny, the Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation.
The Egyptian delegation included leaders from various affiliated companies, such as the Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, the President of EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering, the CEO of EgyptAir Cargo, the Chairman of Egyptian Airports Company, and the Head of EgyptAir Training Academy. Their objective was to enhance collaboration and develop civil aviation services between the UAE and Egypt.
Notable officials present at the signing ceremony included Saif Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority; Mansour AlMulla, Vice President of Abu Dhabi Holding Group; Dr. Samah Hefny; Essam Eldin Ashour, the Ambassador of Egypt to the UAE; Amani Metwali Abd El-Rahman, Permanent Undersecretary of the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation; and Ahmed Adel, Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company.
Maha Al Hay Al-Hamli, CEO of Abu Dhabi Airlines Group, welcomed the delegation. Their visit included a field tour and a comprehensive presentation of the group’s activities and facilities, highlighting Royal Jet, Etihad Engineering, Maximus Air, as well as Zayed International Airport, the Etihad Aviation Training Academy, and the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Center.
On the second day of their visit, the five memoranda of understanding were signed, reinforcing the strategic cooperation framework between the two parties. Royal Jet agreed with the Egyptian Airports Company to develop and operate private and VIP aviation lounges, as well as manage business aviation operations.
Additionally, a memorandum was signed between EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering and Etihad Engineering to collaborate in maintenance, repair, and overhaul, as well as technology transfer and knowledge sharing.
The EgyptAir Training Academy has entered into a cooperation agreement with the Abu Dhabi Training Center to enhance foundational and advanced training programs, exchange expertise, and jointly utilize simulator devices.
Moreover, Gal signed an agreement with EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering to provide comprehensive logistical solutions, including the supply of spare parts, transport, storage, and distribution, with plans to establish a regional spare parts supply center in Egypt that will serve local, regional, and international markets.
The fifth agreement was made between Maximus Air and EgyptAir Cargo, aimed at enhancing cargo services and logistical capabilities, launching new routes for regional and international expansion, improving operational efficiency, and bolstering competitiveness.
These memoranda encompass various fields, including airport development and management, maintenance and repair services, aviation safety improvements, private and VIP aviation services, logistical services, pilot and technical staff training, as well as exploring new opportunities for collaborative efforts.
