Abu Dhabi Ports Group has been awarded a new Guinness World Record for deploying the largest number of artificial intelligence agents in a single logistics facility. The accolade was presented to Abu Dhabi Ports Group for the implementation of 205 AI agents throughout its global operations, in a ceremony attended by His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Suwaidi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.
This new record highlights Abu Dhabi Ports Group’s dedication to enhancing its smart logistics capabilities and boosting operational efficiency through the integration of AI agents. These agents play a key role in core tasks such as coordinating shipping operations and automating warehouse processes, leading to significant efficiency gains and cost reductions. AI applications include a ship speed optimization system expected to reduce fuel consumption by about 3%, a container balancing system that will increase container utilization efficiency by 90%, and smart scheduling for human resources that will reduce scheduling and administrative processing times by over 90%.
The deployment of AI agents signifies a transformative shift in logistics operations, enabling real-time decision-making, predictive planning, and self-coordination on a previously unattainable scale. According to a survey from PwC, about 79% of companies across various sectors reported widespread adoption of AI agents, with 66% noting substantial productivity gains, showcasing the significant impact of AI agents on improving operational performance.
