UAE and Ireland Explore Expanding Collaboration in New Economic Sectors

The Honorable Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, held a bilateral meeting at the ministry’s office in Dubai with Peter Burke, Minister of Projects, Tourism, and Employment of Ireland. The discussion focused on enhancing collaborative opportunities in new economic sectors and future tourism projects, as well as exploring ways to support partnerships between the public and private sectors in both nations.

During the meeting, Al Marri emphasized that the relationship between the UAE and Ireland is built on strong foundations of cooperation in key economic and developmental areas. This includes new economy sectors, hospitality, and tourism development. He highlighted that the tourism sector is a central element of this collaboration, which aids in boosting the competitiveness of the business environment and serves the interests of both countries.

He underscored the importance of maintaining communication between the business communities of both nations to foster the development of more joint initiatives, increase investment flows, and tourism exchanges. Notably, the two countries are connected by 32 weekly flights, enhancing the movement of tourism and business, and opening additional avenues for cooperation in these vital areas.

Al Marri stated, “We believe that the exchange of expertise and capacity building in tourism, entrepreneurship, and expanding partnerships in vital economic sectors contribute to establishing a more attractive investment environment. This enables both UAE and Irish companies to expand and innovate solutions that support sustainable economic development and enhance the private sector’s role in furthering collaboration between our nations in the upcoming phase.”

The two sides explored avenues for cooperation, including supporting and developing innovative projects that incorporate artificial intelligence applications in relevant new economy sectors. They also discussed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Investopia Dublin dialogues, scheduled for mid-month in the Irish capital. This event will bring together a selection of entrepreneurs, experts, and decision-makers, with the aim of highlighting opportunities for strengthening cooperation in future economic sectors.
