Indra, a prominent player in information technology, aviation systems, defense, and mobility, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Edge Group. This agreement marks the initial step toward establishing a new joint venture in Spain focused on the development, production, and maintenance of smart weapons and guided munitions for the Spanish and European markets, as well as select international markets. The collaboration also allows for potential partnerships in defense programs across Europe.
The MoU was signed by Ángel Escribano, CEO of Indra, and José Vicente de los Mozos, managing director of Indra, alongside Hamad Al Marar, managing director and CEO of Edge Group, during the Dubai Airshow 2025.
The agreement aims to bolster the engineering and industrial capabilities of the joint venture leveraging Indra’s considerable industrial footprint in Spain, which is currently expanding to meet increasing demand. Concurrently, the joint venture will benefit from Edge’s advanced technologies and extensive experience in guided munitions.
Hamad Al Marar stated, “Edge Group has successfully established a flexible industrial ecosystem that enables rapid responses to new opportunities and the delivery of highly efficient export solutions. Our collaboration with Indra reflects a long-term strategic partnership built on mutual trust and shared ambition, representing a significant step forward in enhancing our presence in European markets through innovation and advanced manufacturing.
