A recent study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group has revealed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has solidified its position as a leading global force in artificial intelligence (AI). The research indicates that 42% of businesses in the UAE are now classified as AI pioneers.
The findings highlight that organizations within the UAE are remarkably keeping pace with their international counterparts, demonstrating exceptional advancements in the implementation of AI technologies across various sectors. The study gathered insights from 200 senior executive leaders and assessed 41 AI-related digital capabilities across seven key industries.
The results show that 37% of companies in the UAE have reached a stage of “expansion” in terms of their maturity in adopting AI technologies.
This signifies a critical transition from limited pilot projects to widespread application across all enterprises. The UAE leads the regional landscape with an average AI maturity score of 46, while only 13% of organizations reported a slowdown in AI adoption.
When comparing progress among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, the study indicates significant advancements in bridging the AI adoption gap with global markets, as 39% of regional businesses are now classified as AI leaders, compared to a global average of 40%.
