Dubai Chamber of Commerce Hosts Awareness Event to Promote Inclusion of People of Determination in the Private Sector

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce organized an awareness event aimed at enhancing the integration of people with disabilities into the private sector and exploring ways to create a supportive work environment across various fields.

With over 100 representatives from the business community in attendance, the event, organized by the Dubai Chamber’s Business Ethics Center, served as a dynamic platform for discussions among stakeholders. The goal was to identify the main challenges faced by individuals with disabilities in the workplace, showcase best practices and possible solutions, and highlight real-life experiences of employees with disabilities. The event fostered constructive dialogue and aimed to formulate practical strategies that contribute to developing more inclusive and accessible work environments.

Maha Al-Qargawi, Deputy Head of Business Support Sector at Dubai Chambers, stated: “We are committed to empowering the private sector to establish a comprehensive system that guarantees the right to work for people with disabilities and encourages their contribution to economic development. This is done by equipping the business community with the necessary knowledge, best practices, and real-life experiences needed for the effective integration of individuals with disabilities into the labor market.”

The event featured representatives from the Community Development Authority in Dubai, Dubai Police, and Emirates Airlines. It included discussions on the policy frameworks implemented in Dubai to support the integration of people with disabilities into society, as well as the best practices for inclusive employment and supportive infrastructure. Case studies were presented, reflecting tangible strategies and successful practical experiences. The latest innovations and tools designed to assist individuals with disabilities in the workplace were also explored, enabling them to perform their tasks efficiently and independently.

Additionally, one individual with a disability shared their personal work experience, discussing how they successfully overcame challenges faced during their job through institutional support and the accommodations made available to them.
