Sales at Dubai Duty Free continued to achieve record-breaking figures, reaching 671.79 million dirhams in September 2025. This significant milestone is attributed to a notable increase in demand for luxury goods, electronics, and confectionery.
These positive results surpass the previous record set in September of last year, which was 600 million dirhams, reflecting an impressive increase of 71.29 million dirhams and year-on-year growth of 11.87%. This makes September the highest month for sales in the history of Dubai Duty Free’s monthly sales, placing it among the top ten sales months ever recorded for the free market. This achievement continues a trend of monthly record figures, with the exception of March, throughout the previous months of this year.
The sales growth of 11.87% outpaced the increase in traveler numbers, which rose by approximately 4.2% (with final figures from Dubai Airports expected to be released later this month), resulting in a difference of around 7.6%. Since the beginning of the year, Dubai Duty Free sales have increased by 7.45%, reaching a total of 6.07 billion dirhams, up 421 million dirhams compared to last year.
Confectionery topped the list of fastest-growing items, with a sales surge of 57.7%, followed by gold (21.9%), fashion retail (21.5%), electronics (10%), tobacco products (6.9%), and perfumes (5%).
Growth in sales of the “Millennium Millionaire” and “Great Surprises” draws recorded increases of 20.5% and 32.9%, respectively, while wristwatch sales rose by 5.1%, and precious jewelry sales increased by 3.8%. Sales of “Dubai Chocolate” reached 27 million dirhams, with 350,000 pieces sold in September. Sales of the top ten fastest-growing products jumped by 12.1%, and excluding confectionery, the growth rate stands at 8.2%.
