Emirates Opens Its “Hospitality Excellence Center”

Emirates Airlines Launches World-Class Hospitality Training Center

Emirates Airlines has inaugurated its new Hospitality Excellence Center in Dubai, a cutting-edge training facility aimed at providing upscale training experiences for around 25,000 cabin crew members, with a focus on instilling superior hospitality standards.

Significant Investment in Training Facility

The airline has allocated approximately AED 30 million (USD 8 million) for the new center and its training programs. The facility features a dining area and lounge accommodating about 170 guests, along with luxurious showcase kitchens and eight classrooms equipped with the latest technology.

It is expected that over 10,000 cabin crew members will receive training at this facility by the end of the year.

Aiming for Michelin-Level Service

The Emirates Hospitality Excellence Center serves as a platform for training a select team of staff to deliver high-quality services inspired by Michelin-starred restaurant standards. This includes refined culinary presentation, exceptional guest interaction, and advanced serving techniques.

In 2020, Emirates Airlines partnered with the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School, EHL, to develop a new strategy that reinforces the concept of luxury hospitality, yielding impressive results.

Core Principles of Emirates’ Hospitality Experience

The new center embodies this strategy, encouraging cabin crew to adopt the four core pillars that define the Emirates hospitality experience: excellence, attentiveness, innovation, and passion.

Commitment to Maintaining High Standards

Thomas Ney, Senior Vice President of Hospitality Services at Emirates, stated, “Emirates continues to enhance the travel experience with our promise of ‘Unwavering Excellence’ to our customers. We have invested in top-tier training in luxury hospitality to empower our crew to understand customer needs and create unforgettable moments.”

He expressed excitement about providing crew members an immersive training experience that reflects the essence of Emirates’ distinguished hospitality and prepares them to meet global standards.

Expanding Training Concepts

The Hospitality Excellence Center elevates training methodologies, offering a diverse range of programs designed to enhance the skills of hospitality staff. This includes training for new employees as well as regular training sessions throughout their careers.

The new center also delivers comprehensive training programs that reflect the level of investment and precision the airline applies to its crew preparations. Crew members can participate in high-end dining experiences where they role-play as guests tasting dishes from the first and business classes under the guidance of top hospitality trainers, in addition to specialized cooking sessions that teach the art of preparing and presenting dishes at global restaurant standards.

The “Art of Service” program provides advanced training focusing on communication skills and emotional intelligence, diving deep into the essence of luxury hospitality as a human-centered dialogue characterized by attentiveness and personalized guest experiences.

Latest Addition to Advanced Training Facilities

The Hospitality Excellence Center is the latest enhancement to Emirates’ state-of-the-art training facilities, following the earlier opening of the cabin crew area at Emirates’ headquarters in Dubai this year.

With a cabin crew comprising individuals from over 140 nationalities speaking more than 70 languages, Emirates currently employs approximately 25,000 crew members, all of whom have undergone training at the Emirates Training Center in Dubai.

The basic program lasts eight weeks and covers various aspects of the role, including corporate integration, safety and emergency procedures, crew resource management, first aid, aviation security, grooming and appearance standards, hospitality, and service training.
