Ras Al Khaimah’s Ruler: Tourism as a Key Pillar of Sustainable Growth

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, stated that the emirate’s tourism growth represents the outcome of an ambitious vision aimed at diversifying its economy and enhancing its reputation as a global destination for tourism, living, working, and investment. He emphasized that the tourism sector has become a crucial pillar for sustainable growth and a vital source for attracting investments and creating job opportunities.

This announcement came during the inauguration of the new headquarters for the Hilton Group at the RAK Business Center 1 in the Al Nakheel area of Ras Al Khaimah. This office will support the accounting and IT operations for 48 hotels operated by the group across ten countries. The event was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamid Al Qasimi, the Executive Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), Guy Hutchinson, the President of Hilton for the Middle East and Africa, and various senior officials.

His Highness mentioned, “The opening of this new office is a significant addition to the emirate’s tourism infrastructure, solidifying its status as a favored destination for visitors from around the globe, thanks to its unique natural and human resources, along with substantial investments in the hospitality sector.”

He praised Hilton’s pioneering role in supporting the development of the tourism sector in Ras Al Khaimah since its inception and reaffirmed the emirate’s commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with various stakeholders in the future, which will further position Ras Al Khaimah on the global tourism map.

His Highness cut the ceremonial ribbon and listened to a presentation about the office’s modern facilities and comprehensive services, which will support the group’s hotel operations, enhance its presence in Ras Al Khaimah, and expand its current technical center at RAKEZ, in addition to future expansions in the UAE and the region.

In turn, Guy Hutchinson expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of the new headquarters by His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi. He appreciated the continuous support that the Ras Al Khaimah government provides to the tourism and hospitality sectors, affirming that the emirate has become one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the region, thanks to its attractive investment environment and advanced infrastructure. He noted that it holds a prominent position within the group’s future expansion plans.

Hutchinson highlighted Hilton’s presence in Ras Al Khaimah for over two decades and the importance of the new office for the group, as well as the advantages offered by the RAK Business Center’s location and accessibility.

The opening of the Hilton Group’s headquarters aligns with the emirate’s tourism expansion plans, which aim to attract 3.5 million visitors by 2030 as part of its ambitious vision to enhance its status as a global destination for tourism, living, working, and investment.
